Mel Fisher Maritime Heritage Museum

Mel Fisher Maritime Heritage Museum houses treasure from the exciting adventure story of Mel and his family, and their discovery of the wrecked Spanish Galleons on the coral reefs off Key West. The treasures date back from 1622.  There is also a nationally recognized research and archaeology area that carefully cleans and preserves the artifacts found at the bottom of the ocean.  You can learn about the real Pirates of the Caribbean and the science of shipwrecks. Mel Fisher's family presents an annual summer Festival, Mel Fisher Days, featuring a street fair, a Pirate Ball, a Treasure hunt and plenty more.
